Professional Profile

My education consists of an Associate's degree in liberal arts, a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies, and am currently working on my multiple subjects teaching credential and Master in Education with a concentration in educational technology. I am a substitute teacher and have been teaching for four years now with multiple ages of students ranging from infants and toddler to school age children. I have a wonderful family that consists of my mother, father, brother, and sister. My hobbies include traveling, going to the movies, and doing anything super fun. I am super obsessed with anything Disney as I am a huge fan.

Classroom Profile

This class is a first through fourth grade mild to moderate special day class. I have twelve students, all boys. I have three first graders, four second graders, two third graders, and three fourth graders. All of my boys are very energetic with vibrant personalities, each one very unique. We work mostly in small instructional groups so that each student receives the instruction and curriculum at his level. Below is a list of classroom rules and policies, homework procedures and rewards, as well as links to the district calendar, bell schedule, and SARC report for your reference.

Classroom Rules

  • must raise hand to speak
  • may not get out of seat without permission
  • must follow line order at all times
  • must stay on task with assignment at hand
  • may not fight, use foul language, or treat the teacher disrespectfully
  • must follow all school wide expectations (positive behavior support)
  • practice manners and being polite daily
Classroom Procedures and Schedule

  • come in at 8:50- do the pledge of allegiance, calendar, and attendance
  • 9:00-10:40- language arts groups
  • 10:40-11:00 -recess (10:40-1050 on minimum days)
  • 11:00-12:00 language arts groups cont'd and writing journals
  • 12:00-12:45 Lunch (12:00-12:30 on minimum days or inclement weather)
  • 12:45-1:15 read aloud and discussion
  • 1:15-2:45- math groups
  • 2:45-3:05- science
  • 3:05-3:25- social studies
  • 3:25- cleanup and get ready to go home at 3:30
Homework

Homework is given every Monday and generally consists of four pages (one for each night). This is to be returned in the red homework folder fully completed (reading log included). If the homework is returned, the student receives a sticker for that day as well as a chance for a bigger prize at the end of the week. If the homework is not completed, the student will stay in during recess to complete the work. Also parents PLEASE CHECK BACKPACKS FOR ALL IMPORTANT HANDOUTS!
